Swapping the office view of the side of the house next door to views over Loch Kishorn to the Isle of Skye and the Applecross Corries is enough to feed anyone’s inspiration. However, fear not I've not completely lost touch with the industry and I'm regularly in Edinburgh or wherever I need to be.
Plenty of congratulations to be passed on already this year; Kinloch Lodge on Skye who, with Marcello Tully as head chef retained their Michelin Star for the second year running. Paul Wedgwood owner/chef of Wedgwood the Restaurant on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile has just won SLTN's Restaurant of the Year for the second year running. Paul also represented Scotland as the head chef at the Celtic Connections Festival in Barbados – quite an honour. David Mutter, head chef at Darroch Learg Hotel in Ballater got through to the final rounds of the Vive Le Cheese national competition with his Camembert and West Coast Smoked Salmon En Croute with Beetroot and Horseradish.
